I got to know Gevorg Poladian in Kyiv before I started illustrating the Holy Martyrs’ Chapel. Integrating into the environment went very smoothly for Gevorg, which also comes from his character, and the process of mural painting brought him more recognition and respect from the community members.

Gevorg divided the illustration into several stages. Started with the tabernacle area, then the walls and dome. In this process, he lovingly involved different  people: the architect of the church, the priest, even the children. This approach created more enthusiasm and other positive sentiments towards himself and the church.

The theme and style of the frescoes was chosen by Gevorg from the best examples of our ecclesiastical art and realized with high performance art. Until now, our believing children receive spiritual inspiration from the images and pray with contented hearts for our wonderful Icon-Painter.

We ask the Lord to keep His gifted servant healthy, always give him a place under the Sun, and to give him endless inspiration to create.
